¡El Melodifestivalen 2026 alcanza su quinta y última eliminatoria! La competición musical de Suecia en la que conoceremos al representante del país nórdico en el Festival de Eurovisión 2026 se acerca a su fase decisiva en el Gärdehov Arena de Sundsvall.
En esta ocasión, turno para los últimos seis concursantes que buscan plaza en la gran final o, en su defecto, en la repesca (que también se celebrará este sábado 28 de febrero). Concretamente, podremos disfrutar de las propuestas de AleXa, Juliett, Bladë, Lilla Al-Fadji, Vilhelm Buchaus y Sanna Nielsen.
A lo largo de estas semanas, la competición ha recorrido varias ciudades suecas en un formato tradicional compuesto por cinco rondas clasificatorias y una gran final.
La gran final del Melodifestivalen 2026 se celebrará el próximo sábado 7 de marzo en el Strawberry Arena de Estocolmo, donde se coronará al ganador que representará a Suecia en Festival de Eurovisión 2026 en Viena.

Suecia en el Festival de Eurovisión
Suecia participa en el Festival de Eurovisión desde 1958. Desde entonces siempre ha seleccionado a sus representantes mediante el Melodifestivalen.
El Melodifestivalen es una competición organizada por la televisión sueca SVT con el objetivo de seleccionar a sus representantes en el Festival de Eurovisión. El concurso se ha celebrado desde 1958, salvo en las ediciones de 1964, 1970 y 1976, debido a que el país se ausentó del certamen europeo. Desde 2000, es el programa de televisión más popular en Suecia. Acumula audiencias millonarias tanto en televisión como por radio e Internet.
En sus inicios, el ganador del Melodifestivalen era escogido por jurados. A partir de 1999, comenzó a implantarse progresivamente el voto del público. En la actualidad, ambos tienen el mismo peso en el resultado de la gran final. Sin embargo, los finalistas elegidos durante las eliminatorias están en manos exclusivas de los espectadores.
El concurso tiene una influencia considerable sobre las listas de éxitos en Suecia, consiguiendo colar muchas de sus canciones entre las canciones más escuchadas por el público.
Suecia es uno de los países más exitosos de la historia del Festival de Eurovisión. Como dato, siempre ha alcanzado la gran final del certamen, salvo en Oslo 2010 cuando Anna Bergendahl con «This Is My Life» se quedó a las puertas de conseguirlo.
En la edición de 2023, Loreen con su tema «Tattoo» se alzó con la victoria en el certamen y representó al país nórdico en el Festival de Eurovisión que tuvo lugar en Liverpool (Reino Unido). Allí, Loreen consiguió su segunda victoria, siendo la séptima para Suecia. Así, el país igualó a Irlanda como países con más triunfos en el certamen europeo. Además, Loreen se convirtió en la segunda artista de la historia en ganar Eurovisión dos veces, tras el irlandés Johnny Logan.
En Malmö 2024, los gemelos Marcus & Martinus abrieron la gran final del certamen con su «Unforgettable». Finalmente, recibieron 174 puntos que se tradujeron en un 9º lugar. En esta ocasión, fueron más votados por los jurados nacionales (8º lugar) frente al televoto de los espectadores (11º lugar).
En la reciente edición de Basilea 2025, el carismático grupo KAJ se convirtió en uno de los favoritos con su tema «Bara Bada Bastu». Finalmente, alcanzaron el 4º lugar con 321 puntos. En la votación de los jurados nacionales, se situaron en 6º lugar frente al 3º lugar que consiguieron en el televoto.
