Melodifestivalen 2024: ya puedes consultar la letra de las canciones de la primera eliminatoria

¡Nu kör vi! Tras la victoria de Loreen en 2023, Suecia da el pistoletazo de salida a la primera de las seis semanas de la 64ª edición de su magnánime final nacional: el Melodifestivalen 2024. La primera eliminatoria del formato se celebrará el próximo sábado 3 de febrero, a partir de las 20:00h, en directo desde el Malmö Arena (Malmö).

Nuevo año: nuevo cambio de formato

La final nacional sueca se renueva de cara a 2024 con más participantes, y diciendo adiós al Andra Chansen, con la idea de seguir siendo puntero y consiguiendo más emoción para el espectáculo. La idea de la SVT es que con estos cambios se mantenga el interés de la audiencia durante toda la temporada tras el descenso de audiencias del año pasado.

El Melodifestivalen constará de cinco semifinales, con seis participantes en cada una en vez de siete, lo que hace el total de 30 artistas a lo largo de la temporada que ya hemos mencionado antes. La principal novedad de la edición es el aumento de participantes con la eliminación del Andra Chansen que llevaba presente en la competición desde 2002.

En cada eliminatoria, dos participantes se clasificarán directamente para la gran final, mientras que otros dos continuarán en la competencia y los dos restantes serán eliminados. En total, habrá diez finalistas directamente seleccionados de las eliminatorias. Las fechas serán las siguientes:

Primera eliminatoria – 3 de febrero – Malmö Arena, Malmö
Segunda eliminatoria – 10 de febrero – Scandinavium, Gotemburgo
Tercera eliminatoria – 17 de febrero – Vida Arena, Växjö
Cuarta eliminatoria – 24 de febrero – Stiga Sports Arena, Eskilstuna
Quinta eliminatoria y programa de repesca – 2 de marzo – Löfbergs Arena, Karlstad
Final – 9 de marzo – Friends Arena, Stockholm

La final seguirá contando con doce participantes, incluyendo los diez finalistas directos y los dos nuevos finalistas que serán seleccionados en un formato especial. Este programa se emitirá en directo desde el estadio justo después de la quinta eliminatoria.

En esta fase adicional, los espectadores tendrán la oportunidad de otorgar más votos a sus favoritos entre los diez participantes restantes, es decir, aquellos que quedaron en tercer y cuarto lugar en las cinco eliminatorias. Todos los artistas competidores estarán presentes y se mostrará una rápida repetición de sus actuaciones anteriores. El resultado se basará en la suma de los votos recibidos tanto en las eliminatorias como en la fase adicional de la quinta eliminatoria.

La final se mantendrá como de costumbre, con doce participantes compitiendo por la victoria. La mitad de los votos serán otorgados por los espectadores a través de la aplicación móvil y mensajes de texto, mientras que la otra mitad será decidida por un jurado internacional.

El Melodifestivalen: la preselección más conocida de Europa

El Melodifestivalen ha sido celebrado todos los años desde 1959, salvo en las ediciones de 1964, 1970 y 1976. Desde 2000, es el programa de televisión más popular en Suecia; y se retransmite también por radio e Internet.

En sus inicios, el ganador del Melodifestivalen era escogido por jurados. A partir de 1999, éstos se combinaron con el voto del público, y en la actualidad, ambos tienen el mismo peso en el resultado final. El concurso tiene además una influencia considerable sobre las listas de éxitos en Suecia, consiguiendo colar muchas de sus canciones en las listas.

En la edición de 2023 Loreen con su tema Tattoo se alzó con la victoria del certamen y representó al país nórdico en Eurovisión en Liverpool, donde consiguió su segunda victoria como artista y la séptima para el país. Así, la sueca se convirtió en la segunda artista de la historia en ganar Eurovisión dos veces, tras el irlandés Johnny Logan.
