Tras la celebración de la segunda eliminatoria del Melodifestivalen 2025 el sábado pasado, el concurso continúa con la tercera eliminatoria. Por ello, la SVT ha desvelado las letras de las 6 canciones participantes de la tercera eliminatoria del concurso, que será celebrado el próximo sábado 15 de febrero desde Västerås.
Estos son los artistas que participarán en la segunda eliminatoria:

- Björn Holmgren– «Rädda Mig»
- Dolly Style – «YIHAA»
- Angelino – «Teardrops»
- Annika Wickihalder – «Life Again»
Estas 6 canciones se verán en el escenario del ABB Arena de Västerås buscando obtener un pase para la gran final del 8 de marzo. De estos 6 participantes, tan solo dos obtendrán un pase directo a la final, y el tercer clasificado optará al mismo fin mediante la repesca.

Conoce más a los artistas del Melodifestivalen 2025
Así será el Melodifestivalen 2025: Los cambios de la edición de este año
Como es habitual, serán 30 propuestas originales que competirán en las cinco eliminatorias del concurso. Seguidamente, de cara a la gran final, 12 artistas volverán al escenario donde jurado internacional y televoto decidirán el ganador y, por consiguiente, quien representará a Suecia en el Festival de Eurovisión 2025.
De cada eliminatoria, se mantiene el formato de elección de las dos propuestas más votadas como finalistas directos. Por su parte, los grandes cambios los veremos en la repesca donde los artistas tendrán una segunda oportunidad para conseguir uno de los dos puestos restantes en la gran final.
Recordemos que, en 2024, las canciones que quedaron en 3º y 4º lugar en cada eliminatoria conseguían un puesto en la repesca “finalkvalet”. Sin embargo, a partir de 2025, solo tendrá esta nueva oportunidad la propuesta que consiga el 3º lugar. Por tanto, la repesca contará con cinco canciones, en lugar de diez.
Esta repesca se celebrará de nuevo inmediatamente después de la quinta eliminatoria. De las cinco canciones candidatas, la que cuente con mayor puntuación en su respectiva eliminatoria conseguirá automáticamente una plaza en la gran final.
Las cuatro canciones restantes se someterán a un nuevo televoto. La más votada por los espectadores estará en la gran final del Melodifestivalen 2025.
Por su parte, hasta 2024, solo podíamos disfrutar de un pequeño adelanto. Sin embargo, en 2025, el Melodifestivalen contará con otra importante novedad. El día antes de cada eliminatoria se publican las canciones candidatas de dicha semana. Es decir, el viernes previo a cada eliminatoria, se pueden escuchar las propuestas.

El Melodifestivalen: la preselección más conocida de Europa
El Melodifestivalen es una competición organizada por la televisión sueca SVT con el objetivo de seleccionar a sus representantes en el Festival de Eurovisión. El concurso se ha celebrado desde 1959, salvo en las ediciones de 1964, 1970 y 1976, debido a que el país se ausentó del certamen europeo. Desde 2000, es el programa de televisión más popular en Suecia. Acumula audiencias millonarias tanto en televisión como por radio e Internet.
En sus inicios, el ganador del Melodifestivalen era escogido por jurados. A partir de 1999, comenzó a implantarse progresivamente el voto del público. En la actualidad, ambos tienen el mismo peso en el resultado de la gran final. Sin embargo, los finalistas elegidos durante las eliminatorias están en manos exclusivas de los espectadores.
El concurso tiene una influencia considerable sobre las listas de éxitos en Suecia, consiguiendo colar muchas de sus canciones entre las canciones más escuchadas por el público.
Suecia es uno de los países más exitosos de la historia del Festival de Eurovisión. Como dato, siempre ha alcanzado la gran final del certamen, salvo en 2010 cuando Anna Bergendahl con «This Is My Life» se quedó a las puertas de conseguirlo.
En la edición de 2023, Loreen con su tema «Tattoo» se alzó con la victoria en el certamen y representó al país nórdico en el Festival de Eurovisión que tuvo lugar en Liverpool (Reino Unido). Allí, Loreen consiguió su segunda victoria, siendo la séptima para Suecia. Así, el país igualó a Irlanda como países con más triunfos en el certamen europeo. Además, Loreen se convirtió en la segunda artista de la historia en ganar Eurovisión dos veces, tras el irlandés Johnny Logan.
En la reciente edición de Malmö 2024, los gemelos Marcus & Martinus abrieron la gran final del certamen con su «Unforgettable». Finalmente, recibieron 174 puntos que se tradujeron en un 9º lugar. En esta ocasión, fueron más votados por los jurados nacionales (8º lugar) frente al televoto de los espectadores (11º lugar).
